Finance and Operations

Location: On-site, full-time in Arlington, Virginia. Candidates currently based in New York City must be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area. Limited to U.S. citizens; some positions may require eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Base salary: $130,000–$195,000 annually. Estimated total compensation: $151,000–$263,000 annually, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

What you will do

• Build and own the end-to-end financial model, including annual planning, headcount tracking, board reporting, and decision-support analysis.
• Run semi-annual budgeting and ongoing headcount planning while building reporting infrastructure for company-wide performance visibility.
• Partner with the Founders and VP Finance on fundraising, data-room preparation, diligence, executive updates, and quarterly board reporting.
• Run operating systems covering compensation design, offer generation, performance structure, and spend policies.
• Lead special projects involving real estate, market research, vendor strategy, and software procurement.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a top-tier startup.
• Mastery of Excel and Google Sheets, including three-statement and scenario modeling.
• Strong analytical, strategic, communication, structured problem-solving, and generalist operating skills.
• High attention to detail, urgency, independence, and comfort working across finance, hiring, contracts, and operations.
• Must work in person at the Arlington headquarters and be a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

• Background or interest in software, AI, cybersecurity, defense, or intelligence.
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Claude Code, Cowork, Rogo, or Hebbia.
• Ability to create images with Nano Banana.
