Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Hybrid; 2–3 days per week at the London or Basingstoke office, with the remaining time working from home.

What you will do

• Partner with the CTO and technology leadership team, providing financial insight for short- and long-term decisions.
• Own technology financials, including headcount, AI and tooling spend, capital expenditure modelling, investment tracking, and ROI reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly re-forecasts, long-range planning, and workforce planning for the technology organisation.
• Build reporting infrastructure, capitalisation and tax credit models, product P&Ls, R&D investment frameworks, and ROI models.
• Deliver management reporting, variance analysis, and technology KPIs, including cost per project and delivery efficiency.
• Assess new products, tools, technology investments, and technology debt mitigation opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience as a commercially minded finance partner for a business unit or department.
• Strong financial modelling and analysis skills, including headcount modelling.
• Knowledge of finance concepts such as capitalisation, investment analysis, and impairment review.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Experience with finance technology, spreadsheets, automation, and AI tools; familiarity with Abacum or similar platforms is relevant.
• Ability to analyse technical details, build complex models, and communicate conclusions clearly.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SQL, AWS or cloud operations, and the sports entertainment industry.
• Experience with Abacum and AI tools such as Claude.
