Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Prescott, Ontario, Canada; extensive presence on the manufacturing shop floor required

What you will do

• Establish, implement, direct, and maintain quality assurance and scrap control programs throughout manufacturing.
• Lead plant-level problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and scrap reduction.
• Maintain ISO initiatives and support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Manage internal audits, customer claims, returned-material investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory inspections.
• Oversee calibration systems, equipment audits, product specifications, and quality documentation.
• Supervise electrical testing, test technicians, the quality assurance laboratory, and laboratory technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least three years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience in a team-based manufacturing environment with strong shop-floor presence.
• Knowledge of process controls and quality planning methods, including Gauge R&R, SPC, VSM, control plans, process diagrams, Cpk/Ppk studies, and PMEA.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, and documentation for process and ISO requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, planning, leadership, database, and administrative skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Minitab; ability to manage complex tasks and make data-driven decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP, wire and cable manufacturing, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects.
• ISO quality and HSE management systems auditing experience or qualifications.
• ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering.
