Director, Global Quality Systems & Compliance

Location: Ottawa, Canada. Approximately 10% travel is required, typically one week per quarter to other hirify.global sites and headquarters.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain a global QMS framework aligned with business objectives and ISO 9001, TL 9000, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Standardize quality processes, procedures, documentation, document control, training, CAPA, risk management, and change management across global sites.
• Lead the Global Change Control team and govern Engineering Change Order workflows, lifecycle processes, and related risks.
• Own ISO 9001 and TL 9000 certification, audit readiness, internal audits, external contract manufacturer audits, and customer or regulatory audit support.
• Manage TL 9000 measurement systems, data integrity, reporting, QMS performance metrics, and executive-level reporting.
• Partner with Operations, Business Units, Sales, Supply Chain, IT, and other functions to embed QMS practices and support digital transformation of QMS tools, including PLM systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, photonics, electronics, telecommunications, or another complex high-tech manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years of quality management experience, including 5+ years leading global operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of QMS principles, ISO 9001, and TL 9000, with experience implementing QMS in a multi-site global environment.
• Experience with Change Control, ECO/MCO processes, PLM systems, and global audit and certification programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Lead Auditor or External Auditor certification, ASQ certification, CQE, or similar credentials.
• Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Advanced degree in a related field.
