Senior Product Quality Engineer (Optical Transceivers)

Location: Burlington, Canada

Salary: CAD 102,000–110,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead resolution of FiberEdge customer returns and RMAs, including technical communication, containment, 8D reporting, and production support.
• Resolve NCMR and quality excursions with Supply Quality Engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Drive sustainable corrective actions and continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other lean methodologies.
• Support new product introductions through product assessments, FMEA workshops, and quality-focused process development.
• Collaborate with design, test, applications, manufacturing, customers, suppliers, wafer manufacturers, assembly partners, and optical module teams.
• Travel 20–30% to customer sites, optical assembly subcontractors, and foundry partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor or optical transceiver manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of SiGe HBT, BiCMOS, Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS, analog circuits, high-speed amplifiers, bias circuits, current sources, and signal integrity.
• Expertise in ISO9001 quality systems, NCMR, CAPA, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D problem-solving, and statistical analysis.
• Experience working directly with customers and suppliers across wafer manufacturing, assembly, testing, and optical module processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with NRZ, PAM-4, SerDes architectures, and FFE, DFE, or CTLE equalization.
• Data analysis skills using JMP, Minitab, or Python.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience; Green or Black Belt preferred.
• ISO9001 auditor certification and knowledge of optical transceiver reliability physics, laser degradation, optical alignment, and thermal management.
• Experience with AI infrastructure, datacenter interconnects, and semiconductor failure analysis.
