Engineering Team Lead (Kotlin/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Lead a platform-focused engineering team building reliable, scalable shared services for product teams.
• Hire, develop, and grow a team of two engineers while fostering ownership and reliability.
• Define architectural direction, write production code, and solve complex technical challenges with the team.
• Own platform services such as the Auth Service and API Gateway, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ease of consumption.
• Design and implement observability, load testing, and monkey testing practices to improve platform resilience.
• Prioritize reliability, technical debt, operational work, and business demands across Core, Product, and Platform stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven people leadership experience, including growing early-stage teams into high-performing teams.
• Strong hands-on engineering background with Kotlin and Spring Boot, plus MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable distributed systems with resilience and failure-handling patterns.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, performance testing, load testing, and monkey testing.
• Hands-on experience running production services in Kubernetes-based environments and applying a “you build it, you run it” approach.
• Strong collaboration, prioritization, security-by-design, and production operations skills.

Nice to have

• DevOps experience.
• Experience building internal platform services and APIs for other engineering teams.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development, tooling, or AI capabilities within platforms.
