Engineering Manager, Core Commerce Services (E-commerce)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, mentor, and hire members of a high-performing engineering team.
• Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Core Commerce Services.
• Design and deliver scalable platform capabilities, including a secure, channel-independent headless checkout.
• Establish domain boundaries, APIs, and integration patterns using domain-driven design.
• Collaborate with Product, Payments, and adjacent engineering teams to balance delivery with long-term sustainability.
• Ensure secure, resilient, scalable, and observable systems while fostering engineering excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager.
• Strong backend engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with software architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, and domain-driven design.
• Track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms, core business services, or high-volume transactional systems.
• Strong technical judgment, empathetic leadership, stakeholder management, and architectural decision-making skills.
