Lead Tech Operations Manager

Location: Berlin, hybrid, or remote from Germany

A travel technology startup operating a B2B ground transportation marketplace that connects bus, rail, and ferry operators with major online retailers in more than 70 countries.

What you will do

• Own high-level technical operations, escalations, incident management, and swift resolution of complex issues.
• Conduct technical investigations, analyze data, and validate hypotheses to identify optimizations.
• Review technical and product designs to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Implement continuous improvements in products and systems and build tools and processes that improve team efficiency.
• Manage internal and external communications and act as a liaison with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
• Coach team members, set goals, provide feedback, and manage scheduling and on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in second- or third-level technical support, IT analysis, or monitoring roles, including team leadership.
• Experience coaching team members, setting direction, developing talent, managing performance, and delivering constructive feedback.
• Strong root cause analysis, solution design, risk prevention, and technical bottleneck prevention skills.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English communication skills and the ability to work from Germany.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Jira, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with frequent context switching.
