Engineering Team Lead (IoT)

Location: Remote within Germany, with offices in Aachen and Munich. Remote work is available for up to 70 days per year from anywhere in the EU and selected countries outside the EU.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and support a team of software engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and development planning.
• Build a culture of ownership, collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with engineers on technical and architectural decisions and help solve complex challenges.
• Maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, maintainability, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and stakeholders to translate product goals into technical priorities.
• Support planning and delivery of meaningful improvements and new features while contributing to better engineering practices.

Requirements

• Several years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience leading and developing software engineers, including 1:1s, feedback, coaching, and individual development support.
• Strong technical foundation and confidence in technical and architectural discussions.
• Experience taking ownership and making decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
• Collaborative, coaching-oriented leadership style with clear communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely from Germany; office locations are available in Aachen and Munich.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, cloud technologies, IoT, or edge computing.
• Experience with Go, Rust, C++, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, observability, or modern cloud infrastructure.
• Background in energy, EV charging, mobility, or another complex infrastructure domain.
