Mission Manager II / III (Aerospace): Managing payload, spacecraft, launch-vehicle, and customer mission integration for lunar lander and orbital vehicle programs with an accent on interface requirements, technical coordination, and aerospace qualification testing. Focus on building interface control documents, resolving complex payload and spacecraft integration issues, and coordinating testing, launch, and mission operations with NASA and commercial customers.
Location: Headquartered in north Austin, Texas. ITAR eligibility is required: candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do
- Act as the primary engineering and programmatic interface between Firefly engineering teams, NASA, and other payload customers.
- Manage mission performance and interface requirements for payload, spacecraft, launch vehicle, and customer mission integration programs.
- Build and maintain Interface Control Documents for customer payload and spacecraft interfaces.
- Coordinate hardware and software activities including fit checks, spacecraft integration, acceptance testing, launch, and mission operations planning.
- Lead technical interchange meetings and design reviews with NASA and commercial customers.
- Coordinate analysis factors of safety and test plans that satisfy range and mission assurance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience integrating payloads or spacecraft and interfacing with an external aerospace customer or internal product team.
- Working knowledge of aerospace qualification and acceptance testing defined by GEVS.
- Working knowledge of AFSPCMAN 91-710, MIL-STD-882, RCC-319-14, and NASA Standards 8719.13.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present technical approaches and findings clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating payloads onto spacecraft or spacecraft onto launch vehicles.
- Experience with spacecraft deployment mechanisms, robotics, or actuators.
- Vendor management, proposal writing, business development, risk management, or change control experience.
