Mission Assurance Manager (Aerospace): Ensuring successful delivery of high-performance satellite systems by managing mission assurance, quality, risks, non-conformances, and customer requirements with an accent on aerospace product assurance, readiness reviews, and cross-functional execution. Focus on leading risk mitigation, resolving customer quality issues, analyzing failures and root causes, and delivering mission and product assurance requirements for spacecraft programs.

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite in a professional office and manufacturing environment

Salary: $150,000–$195,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Partner with program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Provide independent mission and product assurance for spacecraft programs and customer deliverables.
  • Resolve customer quality issues, non-conformances, notifications, RCCAs, deviations, and waivers.
  • Lead readiness reviews, proposal reviews, and implementation of Contract Data Requirements List deliverables.
  • Identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor program risks and issues.
  • Track non-conformances, conduct internal delivery reviews, and support material, engineering, and failure review boards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant STEM discipline, or an engineering associate degree with at least 8 years of aerospace mission assurance experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a mission assurance or product assurance role.
  • Experience in quality assurance, system safety engineering, reliability engineering, or parts, materials, and processes engineering.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and related processes and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance are required; export regulations require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility for required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an EEE discipline.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or business administration.
  • 6+ years of aerospace mission assurance experience and experience with aerospace customer standards.
  • Concept-to-design-to-manufacturing-to-delivery experience with spacecraft missions.
  • Experience with satellites, payloads, ground systems, or software quality.
