Senior Corporate Counsel Lead - AI Regulatory

What you will do

• Serve as a global subject-matter expert on AI legal and regulatory matters, partnering with Legal, Risk, Technology, People, Commercial, Cybersecurity, and Data Privacy stakeholders.
• Advise on evolving AI laws and regulations and help implement scalable compliance controls for products, services, and partnerships.
• Develop AI policies, governance frameworks, trust artifacts, and colleague training and awareness programs.
• Lead gap assessments against AI laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Advise on regulatory notices, enquiries, examinations, AI-related contract terms, marketing publications, and regulatory risk mitigation.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and provide timely, practical, and cost-effective legal advice.

Requirements

• J.D. with active membership in at least one state bar, or admission to practice in the UK or EU.
• 8–12 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant legal practice area.
• Deep knowledge of global AI laws and regulations, including the EU AI Act and U.S. state AI regulations.
• Experience in financial services regulation, intellectual property, data privacy, or related legal fields.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, communication, judgment, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience managing complex projects and advising clients in a diversified global organization.

Nice to have

• Cyber legal experience.
• Familiarity with AI governance and risk-management frameworks, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework or equivalent.
