Senior Regulatory & Compliance Counsel (AI & Legal Tech)

What you will do

• Advise senior stakeholders across operational, commercial, product, and engineering teams on regulatory matters, risk assessments, compliance frameworks, contracts, partnerships, and supply chains.
• Assess product designs, data flows, and operational processes, identifying regulatory risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Build legal infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, internal tooling, and scalable compliance policies and monitoring systems.
• Develop privacy compliance programs, conduct data protection impact assessments, and maintain compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
• Lead incident and data breach response processes, including regulatory notifications and cross-functional coordination.
• Monitor developments such as the EU AI Act and translate regulatory changes into actionable guidance and policy updates.

Requirements

• Law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) from Sweden, the UK, or an EU jurisdiction, with qualification to practise in that country.
• At least 5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Expertise in GDPR, CCPA, and cross-border privacy compliance, with familiarity with ISO standards and global compliance frameworks such as AICPA SOC.
• Working knowledge of the EU AI Act and emerging AI governance frameworks.
• Strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS agreements, independently owning compliance matters, and influencing outcomes across multiple functions.
