Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location: Yonezawa Plant, Yonezawa-shi, Yamagata, Japan. The role follows a three-shift work system.

What you will do

• Perform periodic inspections, planned preventive maintenance, and general maintenance of production equipment.
• Analyze root causes, troubleshoot failures, and complete equipment repairs and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment, inspection, and maintenance records, including handover and validation after equipment start-up.
• Manage spare parts and improve preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering teams on continuous improvement activities.
• Design production jigs and equipment parts using 2D/3D CAD and prepare technical drawings.

Requirements

• Basic machinery and equipment knowledge equivalent to a technical high school or industrial technical college education.
• Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, production engineering, or manufacturing engineering in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive maintenance planning, and improvement.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or control systems, including practical experience with PLCs, sensors, motors, or pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical drawing and practical experience with 2D/3D CAD, including production jig design, manufacturing, and evaluation.
• Communication skills for collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and production engineering departments, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
