Patient Access Specialist - PRN

Location: Onsite at Mercy - St Joseph Warren Hospital in Warren, OH

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter benefit data, support point-of-service collections, and contribute to clean claims.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required patient forms; obtain signatures and document completion.
• Screen Medicare medical necessity using ABN software and complete related documentation.
• Conduct account audits, maintain reporting data, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work onsite at Mercy - St Joseph Warren Hospital in Warren, OH.
• Inquisitive mindset and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
