Fresh Category Operation Manager

What you will do

• Oversee daily sourcing, packing, logistics, and distribution operations for fresh products.
• Coordinate with growers, packers, consolidators, freight forwarders, retailers, service providers, and internal teams.
• Monitor product quality, food safety, traceability, regulatory compliance, inventory, replenishment, and demand fulfilment.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, resolve operational issues, and improve product availability while reducing shrinkage and waste.
• Track service levels, costs, inventory, waste, and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop SOPs, improve operational efficiency, manage external providers, and support competitive seasonal selling strategies.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in UK and EU fresh food, agriculture, FMCG, or supply-chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of fresh-produce handling, cold-chain logistics, inventory management, and quality assurance.
• Planning, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ERP, WMS, or supply-chain management systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of import/export processes, customs, and freight operations is advantageous.
