Software Engineer Specialists-Payments API Platform (Real Time & Event Driven) (Fintech)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Telecommuting or working from home may be permissible under company policies.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and govern companywide RESTful and event-driven payment APIs and platform integrations.
• Define canonical data models, contracts, compatibility rules, versioning, deprecation policies, and conformance tests.
• Lead the architecture and operation of low-latency, highly available services with active-active deployment and automated failover.
• Implement API security for digital transactions, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, RBAC, tokenization, and secrets management.
• Establish reliability engineering practices with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, runbooks, chaos testing, and end-to-end observability.
• Drive performance optimization, data migration, interoperability, technical documentation, risk reviews, and cross-team cutovers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience; alternatively, a relevant Master’s degree plus 8 years of experience.
• Experience evaluating complex system requirements, developing computer-based solutions, troubleshooting technical issues, and analyzing scalable applications and cloud resources.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing RESTful or event-driven APIs, including Java and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of API security standards, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS encryption, role-based access controls, and secrets management.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node, Python Flask, and automated CI/CD.
• Work location is in the United States; telecommuting is subject to company policy.
