Location: Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and ITAR-related restrictions for U.S. office roles.
Base salary: $143,300β$214,850 USD per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define FPGA firmware architecture and requirements.
- Design and verify FPGA firmware for Xilinx and Microchip FPGA and SoC devices.
- Develop documentation covering FPGA operation and interfaces with software and other FPGA systems.
- Participate in module-level, unit-level, and system-level test campaigns, including automated testing.
- Support spacecraft systems that may be tested and operated on orbit.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in electrical, computer, software, or another engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of FPGA firmware development experience.
- Proficiency in VHDL and strong understanding of FPGA design fundamentals.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
- U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility requirements, including applicable citizenship, permanent residency, refugee/asylee status, or required government authorizations.
Nice to have
- Masterβs or PhD in electrical, computer, software, or another engineering discipline.
- Experience with Xilinx and Microchip tools, UVM, VUnit, software-defined radios, DSP algorithms, feedback control systems, and radiation effects in spacecraft avionics.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, digital timing, DWCCA, SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, GigE, and PCIe.
- Experience with embedded software, PCB designs, schematics, laboratory hardware, Git, Jira, and continuous integration.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
