FPGA Engineer IV (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Architect embedded systems focused on FPGA development, systems engineering, and AI/ML controls at the processing edge.
• Translate internal customer requirements into optimized design requirements for constrained product and technology platforms.
• Design, implement, and test complex FPGAs for system-on-chip and heterogeneous processing architectures.
• Develop IP cores and software combining processors with programmable logic.
• Troubleshoot software and programmable-logic issues, including FPGA timing analysis and timing closure.
• Assess technical risks, communicate project status, coordinate requirements and schedules, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation.
• 10+ years of product development experience.
• Strong experience with Xilinx (AMD) FPGA toolsets and embedded heterogeneous processing architectures.
• Experience with embedded system architecture analysis, solution modeling, RTL, and VHDL.
• Experience developing TCL and Python scripts in a Linux environment.
• Analytical, methodical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills.

Nice to have

• High-Level Synthesis and real-time embedded C/C++ firmware experience.
• MathWorks HDL Coder experience.
• Knowledge of signal-processing theory, algorithms, filters, transforms, synchronization, and estimation.
• Experience working with global teams and multiple stakeholders.
