FPGA Engineer IV (FPGA)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States. Relocation eligible; travel required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $156,000.00–$214,500.00 per year

What you will do

• Architect embedded systems for FPGA development, advanced controls, and AI/ML algorithms at the processing edge.
• Translate internal customer requirements into optimized design requirements and solution models.
• Design, implement, and test complex FPGAs for system-on-chip and heterogeneous processing architectures.
• Develop IP cores and software combining processors with programmable logic.
• Troubleshoot software and programmable logic issues, including FPGA timing analysis and closure.
• Assess technical risks, communicate project status, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product development experience.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation is preferred.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD toolsets and Xilinx FPGAs for embedded heterogeneous processing architectures.
• Experience with embedded system architecture analysis, RTL, VHDL, TCL, and Python in a Linux environment.
• Familiarity with Agile CI/CD, DevOps, development automation, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with internal customers and global teams to analyze requirements and develop solutions.

Nice to have

• High-Level Synthesis and MathWorks HDL Coder experience.
• Real-time embedded C/C++ firmware development.
• Knowledge of signal processing theory, algorithms, filters, transforms, synchronization, and estimation.
• Experience working with global teams and multiple stakeholders.
