Machinist II (Graphite and Silicon Carbide)

Location: Onsite at the Decatur, Texas facility; 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 3:15pm–1:15am.

What you will do

• Machine graphite, silicon carbide, and other specialty materials according to blueprints, customer specifications, and internal work instructions.
• Operate vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and centerless grinders, cup grinders, bandsaws, and other machining equipment.
• Perform machine setups, including initial setups for new parts, and operate equipment prepared by more skilled operators.
• Use hand tools, precision measuring equipment, computers, and machine controls to complete customer jobs.
• Follow safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing guidelines to maintain product quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of machining methods, mathematics, precision measurement, and machine drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections.
• Ability to wear required PPE and handle materials responsibly.
• Ability to work any shift as required, with the primary schedule being Monday–Friday, 3:15pm–1:15am.
• Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

• Experience working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment.
