What you will do
- Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
- Manufacture and repair precision components for compression equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to select machining methods, tooling, and materials.
- Program, load, and adjust CNC instructions and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain production and inspection records, identify improvement opportunities, and follow safety and workshop protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of hands-on machinist experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or repair.
- Experience operating manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications and perform precision machining operations.
- Knowledge of quality control, product inspection, engineering tolerances, and precision measurement tools.
- Compliance with OSHA and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements.
Nice to have
- Vocational training, technical certification, or an associate degree in machining or a related field.
- Forklift certification and an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Card.
