Consultant, Network Security & Governance

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week on-site in Chicago and remote work on other days

Salary: $130,000–$155,000 per year for the Chicago market, based on experience, qualifications, and position location.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain security strategies for perimeter security, network segmentation, NAC, CASB, and public cloud network environments.
• Design and deploy automated security controls and monitoring across cloud and endpoint environments.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies for cloud and network solutions.
• Build, integrate, and maintain cloud and network security services while supporting compliance, audits, reporting, and continuous monitoring.
• Review infrastructure-as-code, system designs, and technical architectures, providing guidance to engineering and security teams.
• Support security training and design scalable cloud network architectures for business growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in cloud security, network security, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and related security tools and services.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, cloud networking, automation, risk management, compliance, and governance.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, Terraform, network security technologies, gateways, and firewalls.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified location; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security, AWS Security, or Azure Security.
