Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Location: Newton, MA, USA; in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home on other days

What you will do

• Own and evolve enterprise security architecture and long-term roadmaps for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Define security principles, governance frameworks, standards, metrics, and compliance initiatives covering ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and SOX.
• Lead cloud and infrastructure security architecture across AWS and GCP, including IAM, least privilege, Zero Trust, network segmentation, CSPM, CIEM, SIEM, and threat detection.
• Drive secure software development and DevSecOps initiatives by integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and application architectures.
• Lead security architecture for emerging AI and LLM initiatives and advise stakeholders on technology risks.
• Direct security assessments, incident response, remediation plans, security documentation, and technical guidance for engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep cloud security expertise and a track record leading enterprise security architecture in multi-cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and GCP security, organization policies, automated threat detection, central logging and SIEM, IAM, least privilege, VPC and perimeter controls, data exfiltration prevention, and encryption/key management.
• Expertise in web application security testing, OWASP methodologies, network vulnerability scanning, and security auditing tools.
• Experience securing containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes, using tools such as Trivy or Aqua Security.
• Ability to lead security discussions with system architects and business leaders, with strong analytical and computer skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; thorough Unix knowledge and understanding of NIST, COBIT, ISO, and SOC 2 frameworks.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
