Cybersecurity Team Lead

Location: Arlington, Texas, United States; hybrid work with four days per week in the office

A financial services organization with specialized cybersecurity, engineering, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response, governance, risk, architecture, and offensive security teams.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for cybersecurity and infrastructure initiatives.
• Guide teams of professional engineers and coordinate technical meetings and presentations.
• Protect systems across servers, clients, users, networks, databases, and data storage.
• Monitor endpoints, web content, intrusion detection, wireless security, malware, logs, data loss, and security incidents.
• Analyze packet captures, network flows, protocols, OSI-layer security, and security analytics data.
• Manage vendors, project expenses, purchasing requisitions, infrastructure risks, and security objectives.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in large and complex business environments, including at least 3 years in cybersecurity, information security, network engineering, IT, security governance, risk management, or a related domain.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/S, SSH, SSL, routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, load balancing, packet capture, and the OSI model.
• Experience with infrastructure design and management, Linux, cloud technologies, IBM pSeries systems, TSM backup infrastructure, and IT service management.
• Knowledge of security processes, controls, privacy legislation, regulatory requirements, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and ISO 27001.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience securing Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud deployments.
• Experience with Terraform, declarative infrastructure as code, immutable infrastructure, Kubernetes, managed Kubernetes platforms, Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in scripting and automation with Python, Go, Ruby, or similar languages.
• Experience using Visio, Microsoft Office, SSH, serial connections, command-line tools, or TMSH.
• Experience working in an AI-enabled environment, evaluating AI outputs, and integrating AI tools into workflows responsibly.
