What you will do

• Design and optimize silicon photonic devices, including passive and active devices such as balanced photodetectors and high-speed photodetectors.
• Support application-oriented PDK design, fabrication, and characterization projects.
• Independently characterize devices, verify performance, and document analytical results.
• Provide technical support for PDK-related questionnaires.
• File patents for silicon photonics devices to protect intellectual property.
• Follow Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and perform additional project-related duties.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of optical science and/or photonics technology.
• Ability to plan and complete experimental projects independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to take ownership, multitask, and prioritize project work.

Nice to have

• Practical knowledge of electrical and optical measurements for optical chip devices and systems.
• Creative and strategic approach to experimental project work.
