Director of IT (POS & Operations Systems)

Location: Columbia, Missouri, United States

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 base salary per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of the next-generation POS platform and Tunnel Controller System, from discovery and architecture through deployment and optimization.
• Define technology roadmaps, governance frameworks, architecture standards, integration protocols, and delivery milestones.
• Build and mentor an internal engineering team while managing third-party development partners and vendors.
• Oversee platform architecture, development, and QA to ensure reliability and resilience across 250+ locations.
• Design and execute phased enterprise rollouts while minimizing operational disruption.
• Establish security, compliance, monitoring, and uptime standards for POS and operations systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of IT leadership experience, including management of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology rollouts across distributed, multi-site operations.
• Experience with POS platforms, payment processing ecosystems, and hardware-software integration.
• Strong vendor management skills and experience holding third-party providers accountable.
• Exceptional communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, EMV, data privacy, cybersecurity, and operational uptime requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with tunnel controller systems, industrial automation, or OT/ICS environments.
• Background in retail, hospitality, high-throughput service operations, or franchise environments.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, conveyor control logic, or sensor integration.
• Experience with IoT fleet management and remote diagnostics at scale.
• PMP or equivalent program management certification.
