Production Support Engineering Manager (Python)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week onsite at 70 W Madison St. Occasional travel is required. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and may need a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annually for the Chicago market, based on experience, qualifications, and location. The role may also include incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day support for production technology services, maintaining stability, availability, performance, and recoverability.
• Manage incident, problem, change, and major incident activities, including communications, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, logging, support metrics, automation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Assess technology dependencies and business impact, identify operational trends, and strengthen service supportability.
• Partner with Technology, Business, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Enterprise Technology stakeholders on governance, controls, and strategic alignment.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing production support team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of related experience, ideally in financial services or technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading production incident response and restoring services through incident, problem, change, and major incident management practices.
• Knowledge of on-call models, runbooks, support documentation, recovery procedures, monitoring, alerting, logging, and production readiness.
• Ability to use service metrics, root-cause analysis, automation, and process improvement to increase stability and responsiveness.
• Understanding of production risk, controls, compliance, audit, regulatory requirements, and governance in a regulated environment.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or relevant certifications or bootcamp completion; strong written and verbal communication skills.
