Software Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; hybrid with at least 3 office days per week

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Maintain business-critical applications and provide technical support for engineering and development teams.
• Operate TCP performance-enhancement proxy software, monitoring systems, and testing infrastructure across multiple network regions.
• Migrate applications from on-premises environments to Kubernetes and improve deployment automation toward near-zero downtime.
• Build automated playbooks, maintain runbooks, and perform application upgrades and patches.
• Maintain test infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, respond to production incidents through an on-call rotation, and implement both immediate fixes and long-term solutions.
• Lead or participate in technical design reviews and guide decisions that improve customer experience, bandwidth efficiency, reliability, and security.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• US citizenship or permanent resident status required.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including migration from on-premises environments to the cloud.
• Experience with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices, Linux, and networking concepts.
• Expertise in Python, Ansible, Go, or C, with the ability to design and implement large-scale distributed services.
• Ability to write and communicate technical designs and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or other cloud services.
• Experience with eBPF and AI tooling in software development.
• Experience working on distributed agile teams with a high degree of independence.
• Strong verbal and visual presentation skills.
