TL;DR
Azure DevOps Engineer (Azure/DevSecOps): Engineering and operating the USMC Azure Enterprise DevSecOps ecosystem with an accent on platform reliability, secure CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and compliance. Focus on designing Kubernetes and GitOps components, maintaining production pipelines, implementing automated security controls, and supporting customer onboarding and incident response.

Location: Must be located in Charleston, South Carolina, or Stafford, Virginia, with periodic visits to the customer site. The position is listed as remote but requires location-specific customer-site visits.

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

  • Engineer and modernize Azure Enterprise DevSecOps platform capabilities, including reusable infrastructure components, Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, GitOps workflows, and automation pipelines.
  • Operate and optimize Azure infrastructure, cloud services, hybrid integrations, production environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure DevSecOps pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security, CodeQL, Dependabot, SBOM, SAST/DAST, and container security tooling.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation with Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
  • Maintain platform accreditation through patching, configuration management, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and RMF-aligned compliance automation.
  • Lead customer onboarding, incident support, root cause analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration across engineering, operations, security, QA, and stakeholder teams.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, with 8 or more years of experience; a master’s degree may reduce the required experience to 6 years. Equivalent additional experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Security+ (IAT II) or an equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
  • Deep experience with Azure, DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD engineering, operational sustainment, automated security, compliance tooling, and observability.
  • Strong Linux and Windows system administration skills, including RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows Server, SCCM troubleshooting, and domain integration.
  • Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, container security, and cloud-native environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DoD cloud ecosystems or Marine Corps enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing GitOps pipelines, Helm charts, Kubernetes operators, and cloud-native platform components.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, advanced container security, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
  • Azure, CKAD, KCNA, AWS, or Azure DevOps certifications.
