Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, CA, USA

Compensation range: $167,400–$310,900 USD total target compensation / on-target earnings, including base pay and performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own technical delivery for complex enterprise customer accounts from deployment through scaled daily use.
• Lead deployments across cloud, on-premises, hybrid environments, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and related infrastructure.
• Define solution architectures and adapt platform behavior to customer data, workflows, and risk models.
• Build integrations with identity systems, SIEM, ITSM, data platforms, APIs, and downstream tools.
• Diagnose deep technical issues and create reusable agents, automations, tools, and playbooks.
• Lead architecture sessions, mentor other Forward Deployed Engineers, and partner with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering on strategic projects.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in deeply technical, customer-facing roles such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, platform engineering, or technical consulting.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or another language, with the ability to understand complex systems and unfamiliar code.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, cloud platforms, and complex cloud, hybrid, and on-premises enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of APIs, system integration, SQL/NoSQL data stores, and structured or unstructured data.
• Experience building data pipelines, classifiers, integrations, automations, agents, or internal tools, along with strong fluency in AI-native developer tools and reusable workflows.
• Strong customer presence, critical thinking, ownership, and working knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulatory topics.

Nice to have

• Experience with DSPM, CSPM, DLP, data governance, privacy platforms, or related security domains.
• Experience with AI agents, agentic coding assistants, MCP, or RAG systems.
• Familiarity with GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, access control, encryption, masking, or other data protection controls.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or mentoring senior technical contributors.
