Software Engineer (Cloud Services)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Jose, California, or Morrisville, North Carolina, United States. The position includes in-office and/or in-person expectations, 24x7 on-call rotations every two weeks, and non-traditional work days and hours, including weekends.

Salary: $147,900–$220,000 per year, depending on location, qualifications, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Develop, test, automate, and deploy managed cloud services and major system subsystems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including product design, specifications, verification, troubleshooting, and delivery.
• Manage production incidents, participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, and resolve issues within agreed SLAs and SLOs.
• Monitor system health, availability, and latency, and implement improvements to performance, reliability, and operational stability.
• Perform production troubleshooting, bug fixes, customer root-cause analyses, specification updates, and automation.
• Drive continuous improvement of production operations and proactively prevent recurring incidents.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C++ or Golang.
• Experience with scripting and infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
• Strong knowledge of Linux or other Unix-like operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and REST API design and implementation.
• Deep working knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, serverless computing, distributed systems, SDLC, and DevOps methodologies.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus availability for 24x7 on-call rotations every two weeks and weekend work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Java, or C#.
• Filesystem development and distributed system design experience.
• Strong familiarity with Google Cloud or other hyperscalers, including AWS and Azure.
