Associated Vice President, R&D

Location: US-DE-Wilmington

Salary: $197,360–$308,375 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Gas Phase Division R&D strategy in partnership with divisional leadership.
• Own the R&D product roadmap for gas chromatography and GC/MS instrumentation.
• Align marketing, R&D, supply chain, quality, operations, and field organizations to deliver innovative products.
• Incorporate customer feedback and competitive insights into product innovation.
• Lead the product development lifecycle from concept through commercialization, ensuring quality, documentation, and DFx compliance.
• Plan R&D resources, develop organizational capabilities, and support smart instrumentation and workflow automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline; a PhD is preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant R&D experience, including 7+ years in progressively senior leadership roles.
• Experience in analytical instrumentation or related fields.
• Success leading globally distributed teams and launching products for worldwide markets.
• Expertise in R&D operations, organizational development, and cross-functional leadership.
• Strategic, financial, and decision-making skills, including P&L awareness, communication, and emotional intelligence.
