Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite work in a US office

Base pay: $132,000–$220,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Own the development of spacecraft propulsion and fluidic products or systems as a technical lead through the full development lifecycle.
  • Create conceptual and detailed CAD designs for propulsion components and perform performance calculations and analysis.
  • Review and approve drawings, 3D PMI, reports, specifications, qualification reports, and flight hardware releases.
  • Plan, instrument, execute, and analyze propulsion integration and qualification tests.
  • Manage schedules, priorities, engineering tasks, stakeholder communication, and technical risk-based decisions.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians and improve engineering processes, documentation, training, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in propulsion system development or an equivalent high-performance engineering field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, mechatronics, or another technical engineering discipline.
  • Detailed mechanical design experience with NX or equivalent CAD software and PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
  • Experience with requirements, detailed design, qualification, production, acceptance testing, design reviews, and flight hardware release.
  • Hands-on integration and testing experience, ideally with National Instruments equipment and software, and experience with electrical and chemical storable propellants.
  • US citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearance are required; US export-control eligibility applies.

Nice to have

  • Python for data manipulation and post-processing.
  • GD&T, engineering drawings, requirements and verification sets, test plans, test reports, and flight hardware troubleshooting.
  • National Instruments data acquisition systems and advanced hands-on engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree or PhD.
