Senior Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office five days a week is essential

What you will do

• Design and document test stands for components through integrated systems, including engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and test procedures.
• Build, operate, maintain, and improve test infrastructure for jet engines and subsystems.
• Maintain facility operations, troubleshoot stand and equipment issues, and perform corrective actions.
• Implement data and video recording infrastructure and analyze data for activation, calibration, and operation.
• Assemble harnesses through crimping, soldering, cable lacing, and troubleshooting.
• Operate manual machine shop equipment, including drills, cutting tools, mills, and lathes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with fluidic and mechanical systems and test operations.
• Experience working with hazardous environments, including flammables, high voltage, and pressurized systems, with appropriate safety mitigations.
• Knowledge of fluid systems hardware and instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, load cells, relays, solenoids, and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems, PLC hardware, computer networking, and software interfaces.
• Proficiency with PLC and data processing software such as Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco office five days a week.
