Senior Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office work five days a week is required

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and document test stands for components through integrated systems, including engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and test procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and improve test facilities for jet engines and subsystems.
• Build data and video recording infrastructure and analyze data for equipment activation, calibration, and operation.
• Diagnose test-stand issues and perform corrective actions to maintain reliable operations.
• Assemble harnesses and operate manual machine-shop equipment, including drills, cutting tools, mills, and lathes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with fluidic and mechanical systems and test operations.
• Experience working with hazardous environments involving flammables, high voltage, and pressurized systems, including safety mitigations.
• Knowledge of fluid-systems hardware and instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, load cells, relays, solenoids, and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems, PLC hardware, computer networking, and software interfaces.
• Proficiency with PLC and data-processing software such as Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high quality standards.
