Deployment Strategist - Japan Forward Deployed

Location: On-site in Tokyo, Japan; travel 25–75% within Japan is required. The role supports US Government work and may involve deployment via SOFA to Japan.

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 per year, excluding potential bonuses, benefits, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Meet customer analysts onsite to understand critical questions, workflows, and operational pain points.
• Identify relevant datasets and work with Forward Deployed Engineers to integrate them into stable, extensible data pipelines.
• Build bespoke workflows for new user groups and lead training sessions to drive product adoption and operational impact.
• Present results and proposals to audiences ranging from analysts to C-suite executives.
• Work with Software Engineering and Product Design teams to incorporate field insights into broader product offerings.
• Build customer demos and scope potential engagements in new industries and expanding locations.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility and willingness to obtain SCI.
• Ability to work onsite in Tokyo, Japan.
• Ability to travel 25–75% within Japan.
• Ability to work effectively with customer teams, engineers, product designers, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, adaptive, introspective, and problem-solving abilities for open-ended and unstructured environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with programming, scripting, or statistical packages such as Python, R, Matlab, or SQL.
