Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's headquarters

Base salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $164,500–$255,275 USD annually.

What you will do

• Support business development with proposals and mission concepts.
• Develop lightweight satellite deployment systems, mechanisms, and spacecraft bus configurations.
• Create concepts and configurations for high-value science and interplanetary missions.
• Own component designs from concept through production, testing, and operation.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA to guide design decisions.
• Lead design, manufacturing, and test reviews while managing schedules, vendors, budgets, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD modeling and technical drawings.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility requirements.
• Ability to work in production environments with occasional exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or TS security clearance.
• Spacecraft or satellite design experience and satellite deployment systems experience.
• Advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on development, testing, and thermal or vibration test-data analysis experience.
• GD&T, spacecraft systems engineering, requirements assessment, and interface control document experience.
