Development Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 + equity

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of development tests, including design, fabrication, operation, and data collection.
• Design test hardware, fixturing, and tooling using CAD, FEA, and hand calculations.
• Execute hands-on testing of structural, thermal, fluid, and electromechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend technical solutions during test campaigns.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations across organization levels.
• Develop and improve test standards, methods, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" (citizen, lawful permanent resident, etc.) for ITAR compliance.
• 2+ years of industry experience in mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA software (NX/Unigraphics and Teamcenter PLM preferred).
• Hands-on experience in fabrication and testing of aerospace or terrestrial mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with data acquisition (DAQ), controls, and dedicated test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Simcenter 3D, Femap, or Hypermesh.
• Basic programming skills in Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++, R, or LabVIEW.
• Practical application of GD&T.
• Experience in student competitions such as Formula SAE, CubeSats, or NASA student launch.
