Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office five days per week is essential

What you will do

  • Own mechanical component and airframe integration hardware from concept and first-order analysis through qualification, vehicle integration, and flight.
  • Perform trade studies and structural, thermal, and fluid analyses to guide component and system architecture decisions.
  • Create detailed component designs and drawings using 3D CAD tools.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, structures, avionics, controls, and manufacturing teams on system integration.
  • Specify, select, and qualify off-the-shelf and custom components with suppliers.
  • Develop hardware test plans, analyze test data, and provide hands-on support during prototyping, builds, ground testing, and flight campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience designing, integrating, or testing fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, precision measurement, and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with NX, CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD tools for routing, packaging, and component design.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and related analysis methods.
  • Hands-on hardware fabrication, assembly, or testing experience, with initiative in a fast-moving development environment.
