TL;DR

Aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

  • Design structural components and integrate flight-critical electromechanical actuation systems from concept through flight testing.
  • Develop mechanisms and kinematic layouts for flight control systems.
  • Create detailed metallic parts and assemblies to support actuation and propulsion integration.
  • Own the prototype development process, including requirements, BOM, procurement, assembly, and testing.
  • Perform structural analysis and hand calculations to verify component margins and load paths.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and interface with suppliers for COTS solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD (NX preferred, or Solidworks) and experience with Team Center.
  • Strong skills in load analysis, free body diagrams, and FEA.
  • Fluency in GD&T and creating manufacturing drawings for complex metallic parts and weldments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with electric powertrain systems, aerospace systems, or Simscape.
  • Knowledge of Part 23 Certification and ARP4754A.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence for task management.
  • Experience supporting vehicle development from prototype phase through mass production.
