CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Second shift runs approximately from 1:30pm to 11:00pm. Must be available for all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Salary: $35.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and program multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including machines up to 5-axis, to manufacture complex aerospace components.
• Produce development and flight hardware in a quick-turn production environment.
• Perform precision inspections using metrology equipment and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, GD&T, and tolerances.
• Manage cutting tools, troubleshoot alarms and tooling issues, and support machine uptime.
• Carry out on-machine deburring, precision cleaning, and preventative CNC machine maintenance.
• Communicate production challenges and process improvement opportunities to shop leadership and engineering.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience, particularly in aerospace machine shops and with hard metals.
• Proficiency in G-code and strong CNC mill and lathe setup and operating skills.
• Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, GD&T, and tolerances.
• Must be eligible under U.S. ITAR requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted, stand for at least 8 hours, and work in physically demanding conditions involving stooping, bending, crawling, tight spaces, repetitive movements, and distracting noise levels.

Nice to have

• Experience machining Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum.
• 3+ years of vertical mill setup experience and 1+ year of 5-axis mill setup and operation.
• Experience with NX, SolidWorks HSM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Esprit CAD/CAM.
• Experience with Heidenhain, Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, or other CNC control systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, tooling knowledge, shop math skills, and teamwork abilities.
