TL;DR
Senior Staff Applications Engineer (Optical Communications): Developing and validating HSPON next-generation OLT combo products, reference application kits, and high-speed PCB designs for PON communications with an accent on silicon performance, signal integrity, and customer-facing technical support. Focus on designing and testing optical communication IC applications up to 50Gbps, solving complex hardware issues, and coordinating NPI delivery across engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer stakeholders.

What you will do
- Provide technical leadership for Applications Engineering across the PON OLT product line, including project planning and mentoring junior engineers.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of next-generation HSPON OLT combo products.
- Design and validate reference application kits, high-speed PCBs, application collateral, and RDK releases.
- Perform silicon verification experiments, performance optimization, fault finding, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Support customers with technical solutions, design-ins, prototype optimization, and first-iteration PCB design.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, PLM, customers, and industry stakeholders.
Requirements
- BSc in Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline, with related professional experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in microelectronics, integrated circuits, or optical communications.
- Experience designing or troubleshooting high-speed printed circuit boards.
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, communication, and customer-support skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and priorities.
Nice to have
- Masterβs degree or PhD in optical-related engineering.
- Experience with Ansys HFSS 3D EM Simulation Software or an equivalent tool.
- Experience measuring and interpreting S-parameters for robust signal integrity.
- Experience supporting complex mixed-signal products and producing technical documentation.
- Experience working with or communicating with the Chinese market.
