Senior Staff Applications Engineer (Optical Communications)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for Applications Engineering across the PON OLT product line, including project planning and mentoring junior engineers.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of next-generation HSPON OLT combo products.
• Design and validate reference application kits, high-speed PCBs, application collateral, and RDK releases.
• Perform silicon verification experiments, performance optimization, fault finding, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Support customers with technical solutions, design-ins, prototype optimization, and first-iteration PCB design.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, PLM, customers, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

• BSc in Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline, with related professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in microelectronics, integrated circuits, or optical communications.
• Experience designing or troubleshooting high-speed printed circuit boards.
• Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, communication, and customer-support skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and priorities.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in optical-related engineering.
• Experience with Ansys HFSS 3D EM Simulation Software or an equivalent tool.
• Experience measuring and interpreting S-parameters for robust signal integrity.
• Experience supporting complex mixed-signal products and producing technical documentation.
• Experience working with or communicating with the Chinese market.
