Principal Field Application Engineer (High-Speed I/O)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; flexible hybrid workplace model.

Sales compensation: $250,000–$300,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Provide end-to-end technical support for customer high-speed serial I/O designs, from early assessment through design reviews, hardware debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and deliver technical proposals based on customer requirements and system architecture.
• Serve as the high-speed I/O subject-matter expert, training the FAE team and creating technical articles and reference designs.
• Work with hirify.global Engineering to support customer design wins and communicate progress to customer engineering leads.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 semiconductor companies and customers specializing in SerDes and high-speed serial protocols.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in high-tech electronics, including high-speed serial I/O design, transceiver architecture, CDR, DFE, or related technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity simulation, hardware design, and SI/PI EDA tools such as Keysight ADS.
• Customer-facing experience with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience presenting technical material to executive management, engineering teams, and external clients.
• Experience with silicon photonics or optical transceivers, semiconductor technology, and laser technology.

Nice to have

• Digital signal processing theory and tools such as Matlab Simulink.
• Analog and mixed-signal design, including ADC and DAC design.
• C, C++, or other software development experience.
• Experience acting as a customer-facing domain expert in silicon photonics or optics.
• Experience deploying or supporting optics in large-scale data-center environments.
