TL;DR
Senior Platform & Hardware Applications Engineer (Optical Interconnect): Enabling customer adoption of graphene-based Optical Compute Interconnect technology through platform integration, high-speed system validation, reference design development, and technical support with an accent on FPGA and ASIC bring-up, optical interconnects, and customer-facing engineering. Focus on debugging link training and BER validation, developing schematics and reference boards, automating experiments, and resolving system-level issues across the product lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Guide customers integrating Optical Compute Interconnect products into switches, NICs, accelerators, ASICs, and FPGA-based platforms.
  • Support customer bring-up and debugging, including link training, BER validation, interoperability testing, firmware configuration, and system-level issue resolution.
  • Develop example schematics, reference boards, application notes, and integration guides covering power delivery, clocking, routing, management interfaces, pinouts, registers, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
  • Contribute to SDKs and PDKs where appropriate and support platform integration and high-speed system validation.
  • Coordinate with Product, Photonics, Packaging, and Test Engineering teams to communicate field issues, feedback, and feature requests.
  • Support pre-sales evaluations, demonstrations, benchmarking, post-sales debugging, technical escalations, customer training, and on-site laboratory support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong experience with FPGA and ASIC SerDes bring-up, evaluation-board PCB design, RTL development, IP integration, embedded software, tool flows, high-speed measurements, and interposer validation.
  • Understanding of optical transceivers, Co-Packaged Optics, optical chiplets, link budgets, NRZ/PAM4 modulation, equalization, Ethernet, PCIe, CXL, and JESD204.
  • Programming and scripting experience for controlling demonstrations, automating experiments, interfacing with test equipment, and analyzing data.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, logic analyzers, pattern generators, and other high-speed debugging tools.
  • Experience with FPGA development flows, PCB CAD tools, Microsoft Office, and engineering documentation and drawing tools, plus strong customer-facing communication skills.
