CNC Machinist III-2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing site in Briggs, Texas, on the 2nd shift, approximately 25 minutes north of Cedar Park. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

What you will do

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills, turn-mill centers, and related equipment for complex aerospace components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and CAD models.
• Machine Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, and other high-performance alloys.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies for precision and efficiency.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and related measurement tools.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot defects, optimize programs, improve cycle times, and maintain AS9100 documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience, including hands-on 5-axis machining.
• Independent setup and operation of 5-axis CNC machines, with mill/turn, DMG Mori, Okuma, or VTL experience.
• Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skills, with experience holding tolerances of ±.001 inch or better.
• Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls such as Haas, Fanuc, or Siemens.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite on the 2nd shift, work overtime as needed, pass a background check and drug screening, and perform physically demanding work including regularly lifting 25 pounds.

• Advanced 5-axis toolpath and multi-surface machining experience.
• Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software proficiency.
• CMM inspection, advanced metrology, fixture design, or advanced workholding experience.
• Aerospace, defense, prototype, or high-mix low-volume machining experience.
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or experience mentoring junior machinists.
