CNC Machinist - Weekend Shift

Location: Austin, TX, United States; weekend shift

Company

Develops autonomous defense robotics combining computer vision, control systems, and precision manufacturing to target small drones and loitering munitions.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines for prototype and production parts.
• Program machines using G-code, CAM software such as Mastercam and Fusion 360, and manual programming.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to produce parts within precise tolerances.
• Perform tool changes, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine optimization.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision tools, documenting quality results.
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, and quality teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and shorten cycle times.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of CNC mill and lathe programming experience.
• Proficiency in CNC setup, operation, CAM programming, and technical drawing interpretation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T standards and precision inspection tools.
• Ability to operate manual mills, engine lathes, drill presses, bandsaws, belt sanders, and hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CNC machining apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
