TL;DR
Staff Network Systems Engineer, AirLink (Wireless Networking): Diagnosing and resolving complex field issues across AirLink wireless router platforms with an accent on Linux systems, network protocols, packet analysis, and root-cause investigation. Focus on reproducing customer problems, developing workarounds, driving corrective action with development teams, and shaping system-level requirements for next-generation routers.

Location: Richmond, BC, Canada (hybrid)

Salary: CAD $95,000–$128,000 per year

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end investigations of field-reported issues across the AirLink wireless router portfolio.
  • Replicate problems, identify root causes, coordinate corrective actions with development teams, and create interim workarounds.
  • Analyze device logs, configuration databases, IP packet captures, and scripted diagnostics to produce actionable insights.
  • Provide technical escalation support to sales and field support teams on platform behavior and configuration.
  • Contribute to system design and feature requirement reviews for new platform releases.
  • Document troubleshooting methods, workarounds, bugs, and operational insights in Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent; or a technology diploma with relevant industry experience.
  • 5+ years of Linux systems experience, including Bash and Python scripting, firewall configuration with iptables and nftables, cron, and IP packet capture analysis.
  • 5+ years of networking experience with IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP, NAT, DHCP, SNMP, PPP, VPN, IPsec, MOBIKE, OpenVPN, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Methodical system-level troubleshooting and independent root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in small teams and drive issues through resolution.
