Senior Network Engineer (Gamedev)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; onsite four days per week

Salary: CAD 100,220–197,758 annual base pay

Demonware is an independently run hirify.global studio providing online and data services for major video game franchises, including Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, and Skylanders.

What you will do

• Lead technical direction and standard methodologies for current and future network infrastructure.
• Improve the efficiency and lifecycle management of hardware fleets, data centre networks, and network services.
• Provide network infrastructure for virtualized and containerized workloads.
• Drive secure, scalable, and repeatable infrastructure through automation and infrastructure as code with tools such as Ansible.
• Deliver infrastructure projects across multiple teams and troubleshoot issues through root-cause analysis.
• Act as an escalation point and participate in the globally shared on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of practical data centre network experience, preferably with large-scale networks in a global 24/7 environment.
• Strong knowledge of at least two of TCP/IP, routing and switching, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Experience with compute and network hardware, architecture, and services including BGP, NAT, VPN, VXLAN, EVPN, DNS, DHCP, NFS, and SNMP.
• Strong Unix shell scripting skills and ideally Python; knowledge of Linux, virtualization, and containers.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, including pod networking, overlays, network policy, ingress, and software-based network functions.
• Ability to work from the Vancouver, BC office four days per week.
