Senior Test Development Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Alhambra, California, United States; based at the hirify.global Photonics Products facility. International travel may be required for contract manufacturers implementing production stations.

Salary: $117,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of production test stations.
• Develop and deploy automated test stations integrating Active Alignment Systems and Pick-and-Place machines.
• Collaborate with Device Design Engineering to define production tests and performance specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to validate new production testing methods.
• Work with software development engineers to add test updates and features supporting product specifications.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing test failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience developing automated test stations for semiconductor lasers.
• Extensive experience developing and integrating Active Alignment Systems and Pick-and-Place machines.
• Advanced knowledge of wafer probe test methodologies, ATE systems, parametric testing, and yield analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: VBA, C/C++, or Python.
• Experience with fiberoptics test instruments, semiconductor laser controllers, optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, and semiconductor laser and photodiode manufacturing.

Nice to have

• Experience programming APIs for test instruments.
• Windows programming and scripting experience.
• MATLAB experience.
• Experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication and product test environments.
