Principal Fab Test Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Annual base salary: USD 129,400–207,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

hirify.global's Wireless Semiconductor Division develops and manufactures advanced silicon-based MEMS technologies and related test systems.

What you will do

• Own wafer-level prober and tester tool groups used for analog DC, linear RF, non-linear RF, and wafer-sort measurements.
• Design or specify tester hardware systems, verify measurement capabilities, and integrate components, instruments, and MES data systems.
• Develop software for tester setup, configuration, operation, system interfacing, and monitoring using Linux, Windows, and Python.
• Maintain continuous wafer and lot flow by resolving control-chart, calibration, reference-wafer, hold, disposition, and tester-interrupt issues.
• Lead improvement projects focused on tool availability, uptime, capacity, maintenance cost, yield, quality, productivity, measurement quality, and enhanced capability.
• Investigate incidents and equipment failures, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and develop monitoring, maintenance, training, and certification procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 12+ years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Experience configuring, programming, and operating EG4090 and TEL probers, wafer-level analog DC and RF instruments, and measurements up to DC–20+ GHz.
• Knowledge of probe card technologies and maintenance, including cantilever, vertical, GSG, and pyramid cards.
• Programming experience with Python and GitLab, including version control, workflow, issue tracking, and package deployment.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits, instrument accuracy and repeatability, SPC, DOE, statistical hypothesis testing, and structured problem solving.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with test executive specification, evaluation, purchasing, and implementation.
• Cadence artwork review and familiarity with VEE, Java, JScript, JSON, and JMP.
• Cross-platform GUI development for Linux and Windows.
• Experience with FDC, Copy Exactly, High Precision Maintenance, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of MEMS and active-device microfabrication techniques.
