Principal Fab Test Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, USA; onsite fab-based role at 4380 Ziegler Road.

Annual base salary: USD 129,400–207,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for owned wafer-level prober and tester tool groups used for analog DC, linear and non-linear RF parametric measurements, and wafer sort.
• Maintain tool availability, uptime, capacity, yield, quality, productivity, and maintenance-cost performance.
• Lead measurement-quality, enhanced-capability, migration, continuous-improvement, R&D, and new-product-introduction projects.
• Specify, select, purchase, install, qualify, release, and debug tool components and instruments with suppliers and vendors.
• Investigate lot incidents, scrap events, potentially non-conforming material, and tool interruptions; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop monitoring, operating, maintenance, documentation, training, and certification practices for test equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 12 years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Experience identifying, selecting, purchasing, installing, qualifying, and releasing tool components and instruments, including supplier and vendor debugging.
• Proficiency configuring, setting up, programming, and using EG4090 and TEL probers.
• Experience with wafer-level analog DC, linear RF, and non-linear RF instruments and measurements from DC to 20+ GHz.
• Experience with probe-card technologies and maintenance, including cantilever, vertical, GSG, and pyramid probe cards.
• Programming experience in Linux and Windows environments, using Python and GitLab for version control, workflow, issue tracking, and package deployment.
• Component-level electrical and circuit knowledge, plus understanding of instrument measurement capability, accuracy, precision, and repeatability.
• Experience creating and owning PDCAs, E-TCOs, and D-TCOs; applying structured problem-solving methods; and troubleshooting process, equipment, and measurement interactions.
• Experience using Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and statistical hypothesis testing; excellent written, verbal, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with test executive specification, evaluation, down selection, purchasing, and implementation.
• Artwork review experience with Cadence.
• Familiarity with VEE, Java, JScript, JSON, JMP, and cross-platform GUI development for Linux and Windows.
• Practical experience with Fault Detection & Classification systems, Copy Exactly methodology, High Precision Maintenance, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of MEMS and active-device micro-fabrication techniques.
