Engineering Manager, Accounts (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid

Annual salary: $207,000–$253,000 CAD; typical starting salary is $230,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Lead planning and delivery of engineering initiatives against quality, timeline, and business objectives.
• Establish and improve engineering processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, technical design reviews, and team rituals.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape technical strategy and align engineering work with company and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to solve complex problems and deliver impactful solutions.
• Hire, onboard, coach, and manage the performance of a high-performing engineering team.
• Build a collaborative, feedback-driven culture focused on learning, mentorship, and professional growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience, ideally in a high-growth B2B SaaS or fintech environment.
• 1–3 years of experience in people management.
• Strong technical foundation and a track record of shipping high-quality products.
• Clear communication, pragmatic decision-making, and a customer-centric approach to scope, technical debt, and timelines.
• Experience with Node, TypeScript, React, and AWS is beneficial; the stack also includes Terraform, React Native, DynamoDB, RDS Postgres, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, SES, Elasticsearch, and ECS.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, navigate ambiguity, and use AI to solve complex problems.
